The Franklin Institute Science Museum Selects Linux To Power Their Primary Web Site.

Philadelphia, PA — January 10, 2001 —  LinuxForce Inc. today announced its completion of the migration of The Franklin Institute Web site to a Linux-powered operating system. In addition, LinuxForce has installed the sophisticated AdminForce Remote monitoring system together with the Debian GNU/Linux 2.1 operating system and the Apache web server at the Philadelphia-based The Franklin Institute Science Museum.

Charles B. Fleming President of LinuxForce commented : "The powerful capabilities of Linux are being more broadly recognized and the addition of AdminForce Remote as an administration tool is proving to be the cost saving approach needed in a maturing IS community"

"We have been experiencing a dramatic increase in contracts to support migrations to Linux from numerous businesses and institutions," Fleming said.

He added "The Franklin Institute Science Museum is a prestigious educational institution in science and technology which requires solid site performance, but it is not alone in making its Linux decision coupled with the cost-effective AdminForce Remote service.

Fleming said that LinuxForce has migrated 150 web sites to the Linux operating system in the last 90 days. He said increased numbers are expected with the added capability of the AdminForce Remote.

Karen Elinich, Director of Educational Technology Programs at The Franklin Institute, commended LinuxForce for the depth of support it has provided with its AdminForce Remote service.
